Nottawasaga OPP says they are investigating after two suspects impersonated police officers in New Tecumseth.
According to OPP, between 9:30 p.m. and 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, a person was driving on the 15th Sideroad between 12th Line and 13th Line, south of Highway 89, southeast of Alliston.
"This individual reported that he was pulled over by two males who identified themselves as police officers," OPP said in a release. "The victim was uncomfortable with the interaction and reported the incident to police."
The suspects are described as:
- 5'10, stocky build, with red hair
- 6'4, short spiky black hair, a goatee, and a scar under his left eye
Officers say both wore blue vests with "POLICE" on the front and back, name tags with a Canadian flag, and an "OPP" crest above the word police. OPP say they had a radio, handcuffs, and a holster. As well as dark long-sleeved shirts and pants with a yellow stripe.

"Citizens may ask to see an officer's badge and warrant card," OPP stated. "Some officers and off-duty officers may not be wearing uniforms, but they will be able to provide you with the name of their service, detachment, badge number, and rank, and produce a badge and warrant card without delay.
"Those who suspect they have been pulled over or confronted by a police impersonator should lock their doors and immediately call 911. Do not get out of your vehicle. If possible, try to write down a description of the person, their vehicle, and their license plate as soon as it is safe to do so."
