Police in Midland cuff man accused of hitting up drive-thru while drunk

Elderly man had his licence suspended for 90 days, vehicle impounded for a week

Police have laid a drunk driving charge against a man heading through a Midland drive-thru.

Officers with the Southern Georgian Bay OPP were called to a restaurant on County Road 93 around dinnertime Tuesday with reports of a possible impaired driver.

Officers tracked down the suspect vehicle in short order and say it was clear a drinking and driving investigation was warranted, after speaking with the driver. The 66-year-old man has been charged with Impaired by Alcohol and being over the blood alcohol limit. His licence has been suspended for 90 days, while his vehicle was impounded for a week.

The suspect is due back in Midland court in late June.
