Police pull over big rig on highway 11 near Bracebridge, lay drunk and dangerous driving charges

Tractor-trailer impounded, driver's license suspended

A Quebec trucker has an appointment with a judge in Bracebridge after a call to police about some worrying driving behaviour.

The Bracebridge OPP detachment got the call at around 6 p.m. Sunday regarding the driving behaviour of a tractor-trailer heading south on Highway 11 between Huntsville and Bracebridge. Officers were able to track down the big rig in question near Cedar Lane.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, a 51-year-old from Saint-Bruno-Guigues, Quebec, was arrested and charged with drunk and dangerous driving. His fully loaded tractor-trailer was impounded, and his driver’s license has been suspended. He will answer to his charges in court in mid-July.
