This is not a day to be out on the roads.
Wind-whipped snow squalls are causing havoc on area roads. Even with no snow squalls, the gusty wind has resulted in extensive blowing and drifting snow.
Police are advising against travelling unless it is absolutely necessary.

The #BarriePolice is requesting the assistance of the public during this round of inclement weather. Snow squalls continue to impact our area and are creating near zero visibility conditions. The heavy snow resulted in curbside collection in Barrie being pushed back a day as trucks were pulled off the road.
"Residents in the Monday area are asked to please bring your material in and place it out again for 7am Tuesday morning," the city posted on its webpage.
