Police say driver who struck pedestrian had not defrosted windows
Woman was walking her dog when she was hit
The cold weather requires more effort from motorists after snow or frost.
An example of that played out in north Barrie on Monday morning when police say a driver who had not defrosted their vehicle windows struck a pedestrian walking her dog.
Spokesman Peter Leon says the woman was well into the intersection on Cundles Road West between Lillian Crescent and Kozlov Street when she was hit shortly after 8 a.m.
The woman was taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The dog also sustained injuries.
Leon reminds pedestrians that they should be aware of their surroundings before they step out on the road.
Today’s collision is still being investigated by police.
