Barrie police are trying to piece together where a man was stabbed after he walked into a pub on Bradford and Victoria Streets.
Just before 7 p.m. on Monday, first responders converged at Malones Pint House where they located a 40-year-old man of no fixed address with a "significant" laceration to the head and the shoulder blade area. The man was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.
"It has not been confirmed what type of weapon was involved, but it could have been an edged weapon of some type," stated police in a news release on Tuesday.
Police spent the evening trying to locate where the man had been injured, but were unable to do so, and there is no information about who injured him.
Investigators say officers canvassed the area and did retrieve some surveillance video, though it only shows the victim but not the assailants.
The investigation is ongoing and it "appears to be isolated in nature."
