An early morning 911 call reporting a home invasion in Port McNicoll has led to an investigation and search for suspects.
Southern Georgian Bay OPP say the call came through just after 2 a.m., and officers responded to a residence on Second Avenue.
"Attending officers found the residents of the home unhurt and officers from the OPP's Emergency Response Team (ERT), Tactics and Rescue (TRU), and Canine Unit (K-9) attended the scene to support uniform officers in the search for the unknown suspects(s)," David Hobson, Media Officer, stated in an OPP media release.
Hobson says the investigation is ongoing and they are asking the public for any information, home/door security footage, or dashcam video to contact them at 1-888-310-1122 or opp.southern.georgian.bay@opp.ca. You can also call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or submit anonymous information online at https://ontariocrimestoppers.ca/submit-a-tip/submit-a-tip.
"Members of the Southern Georgian Bay OPP Detachment remind all members of the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times," Hobson continued.
"The OPP's website contains a number of useful resources, tips and links: www.opp.ca. Furthermore, investigators stress the importance of subscribing to the security-related CAMSafe program which was designed to assist police investigators."
