Police seized replica handgun, prohibited knives

Police in Orillia seized a replica handgun after reports of an armed hold up.

The victim called the OPP around 11:00 p.m. Monday to say she’d been held up by a woman with a gun outside a business on Atherley Road in Orillia. Officers arrived and were told the suspect fled in a black car. Despite extensive patrol of the area, the suspect vehicle couldn’t be located.

Further investigation led to a search warrant executed in Port McNicoll. An 18-year-old woman was taken into custody and charged with armed robbery, uttering threats, probation violations, and more. Police say, on top of the replica Glock 17 firearm, two prohibited knives were also seized.
