Commissioner Says PM Exerted Influence Over Jody Wilson-Raybould

Canada’s Ethics Commissioner says Prime Minister Justin Trudeau had broken the federal Conflict of Interest Act during the SNC-Lavalin affair.

The commissioner claims Trudeau exerted influence over former Attorney General Jody Wilson-Raybould during the so-called SNC-Lavalin scandal. Commissioner Mario Dion’s findings were released today, that claim Trudeau improperly pressured Wilson-Raybould to override decisions not to offer the Quebec engineering firm a deal to avoid bribery and corruption charges.
