New cases hit a plateau after falling from record highs in April

After a drop in new cases was noted earlier this month, the number of new cases reported by health officials stubbornly refuses to go down.

Ontario’s epidemic curve shows a peak in late April and a plateau through May

Public Health Ontario confirmed 413 new cases of COVID-19 today, pushing the province-wide caseload past 24,000. The number of new cases added daily has been hovering between the 300-400 range since early May.

Over 18,500 people have recovered thus far, an increase of 319 people since yesterday. However, another 31 lives were lost, 1,993 to date.
