Provincial Police investigating potential theft of pet hawk from Ramara property

One-year-old Arsenal disappeared from outside his home on February 3

The OPP are asking you to keep a hawk-eye out for a missing bird of prey that may have been stolen from a Ramara Township residence.

Provincial Police say a pet ferruginous hawk disappeared from outside the home sometime between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. February 3. The one-year-old bird named Arsenal was securely tethered outside at the time.

Once the owner noticed the bird was missing, they searched the area and found shoe prints nearby. Arsenal’s tether is also missing, so police say in the unlikely event the hawk escaped on his own, the tether should still be attached to his leg.

If anyone has information about this missing hawk or knows of its whereabouts, contact the Orillia detachment of the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
