Public Health Ontario COVID-19 case update: 135 new cases as of Friday morning

Eight recoveries, eighteen people have died

As health officials across the province and country continue to strive towards containing the spread of COVID-19, Public Health Ontario is making sure everyone is informed about the caseload medical professionals face.

As of 10:30 a.m., March 26th, 2020, Public Health Ontario reported 993 cases of COVID-19 in the province, an increase of 135 from Thursday morning. Eight people have recovered fully; eighteen have died.

Provincial officials, including Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. David Williams (pictured above), are twice-daily updating a dedicated COVID-19 website with current information about recent cases. Information about patients diagnosed with the disease is being made available at 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., seven days a week. It includes the health unit and hospital involved in the diagnosis, as well as actions taken to contain the virus.
