A man wanted by Rama police, who was considered armed and dangerous, was located and arrested in Barrie on Friday.
Last month, the Rama Police Service asked for the public’s help locating two suspects, a 24-year-old man and a 28-year-old woman, in relation to the discharging of a firearm on Jan. 1 on Rama First Nation territory.
On Jan. 27, according to their Facebook page, Rama police said the female suspect was taken into custody by North Bay police.
Then on Feb. 3, Rama police thanked the Barrie Police Service for locating and arresting the wanted man.
He faces the following charges:
- Attempt to commit murder using a restricted or prohibited firearm
- Discharge a firearm with intent
- Pointing a firearm
- Possession of loaded prohibited or restricted firearm
- Careless use of firearm, weapon, prohibited device or ammunition
- Firearm – use while attempting to commit offence
- Unauthorized possession of a firearm
- Possession of weapon for dangerous purpose
- Uttering threats – cause death or bodily harm
- Fail to comply with release order other than to attend court X 6
