A section of Fairview Road will be closed come June as part of the ongoing construction of the overpass spanning Highway 400 at Harvie Road.
The City of Barrie says Fairview will be closed on June 1, from west of Bayview Ave. to just south of the ONroute service centre. The closure will not affect access to the Barrie-Simcoe Emergency Services campus. It will remain in effect until November when the project is wrapped up.
“This $45M project is a major undertaking that has been over four years in the making, from design to construction, and we are now nearing the finish line,” says Andrea Miller, General Manager, Infrastructure and Growth Management. “The final step of construction will bring much-needed relief to traffic in the south end before the end of the year.”
