Two people from Penetanguishene have been charged in an alleged road rage incident that led Huronia West OPP to conduct a high-risk takedown of a vehicle after officers received a report one of the drivers pointed a firearm.
Police were contacted around 2 p.m. on Tuesday following several calls about two drivers apparently engaged in a road rage incident.
"Two of these callers were occupants from the vehicles involved, one stating they were being run off the road and the other stating an occupant pointed a firearm at them," according to an OPP news release on Wednesday.
As both vehicles were headed into Wasaga Beach, OPP say they were able to stop them and conduct a high-risk takedown of the vehicle alleged to be containing a gun.
The suspects were arrested without incident and a weapon was seized.
A 32-year-old faces four firearm-related offences and a charge of uttering threats causing death or bodily harm.
A 33-year-old was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle.
