Road rage with weapon on Highway 11: Orillia OPP

Orillia OPP has charged a 25-year-old Clearview Township man after a reported road rage incident on Highway 11 northbound in Oro-Medonte.

Just before noon on Thursday, police responded after being told a male passenger brandished a firearm at another driver. Shortly after, officers initiated a high-risk takedown on Memorial Avenue and Woodland Drive in Orillia where a man was arrested.

The suspect has been charged with the following:

·      Adult Fail to Comply with Probation Order

·      Adult Pointing a Firearm

·      Adult Poss of Firearm or Ammunition contrary to Prohibition Order X 4

The accused was held for a bail hearing.

OPP considers this an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
