Rock 95 – 107.5 Kool FM Toy Drive Putting Smiles On Young Faces for Nearly Three Decades

Joint Effort Kicking off Today

The Rock 95 Kool FM Toy Drive is in its 29th year of helping give kids a Christmas.

The Toy Drive donates toys to children of all ages ranging from infant to 16 years old. This year it runs from Tuesday, November 12th until Friday, December 20th, 2019. “For the past 30 years, ROCK 95 has presented its Christmas Toy Drive to help give children across our region a Christmas.” says Dave Carr, Central Ontario Broadcasting’s General Manager “Our sister station 107.5 Kool FM has also joined the Toy Drive 12 years ago, and together we strive to put smiles on even more kids’ faces every year.”

Carr says the annual effort has been pretty successful, “Last year, The ROCK 95/Kool FM Toy Drive raised over $100,000  in toys and cash donations.” says Carr, “We helped families right across our region, and helped support the Christmas Cheer Drive in Barrie, as well.”

New, unwrapped toys can be dropped off at participating Canadian Tires in Central Ontario, including Barrie, Alliston, Wasaga Beach, Innisfil, and Orillia. “All toys and cash stay in the communities where they were donated.” added Carr, “If you live in Orillia, for example, the toys you donate will go to Orillia families in need. It’s the same for all the communities in our region.” If you would like to get involved as a Secondary Drop Off location or a volunteer, please contact the Toy Drive Coordinator at toydrive@cobroadcasting.com. Monetary donations will also be accepted and can be done at any of the drop off locations or in person at the Rock 95 / 107.5 Kool FM studios at 431 Huronia Road in south Barrie.

Carr points out that while individual donations are much appreciated, you can always get the whole gang involved “You can also help out with your business. Raise toys and gift cards at your office Christmas party,  put up a box at your factory, store or office, or offer a discount on services with the extra money going to the ROCK 95/ Kool FM Toy Drive.”
