Rachel Detta of Rock 95 will be free ... free falling!
The Rock 95 announcer is set to jump out of a plane and skydive as part of the Taking the Leap: Superhero Skydive, in support of the Women and Children's Shelter of Barrie.
She jumps on Friday, June 17, with a goal to raise $1,992, all of which will go towards the local organization, she's currently at $1,181.
Detta says she's throwing herself out of a plane for a few reasons, including an exciting way to celebrate her 30th year of being on Earth, and to support a good cause.
"The shelter is a key component to our community, they ensure there is support for women trying to better themselves, either for themselves or their children," Detta posted on her campaign page.
"I believe we have a duty to ensure our fellow human being is cared for, and you can show that you feel the same by making any sized donation."

Detta says she wants to add a twist to things and hopes to be wearing a - quite fitting - pair of parachute pants when she jumps, but she has another option if that doesn't come to fruition.
"It's coming too close to the deadline, so I really can't find parachute pants," Detta told Barrie 360. "So, right now I'm like, 'Hey, pay $200 and I'll let you pick my t-shirt', obviously has to be appropriate, but I can do some free advertising or something."
Whatever outfit she wears, the Rock 95 announcer says she's thrilled about the opportunity to jump out of a plane, and there is only one part of the process she is nervous about.
"It seems so irrational, and so stupid, [but] when they open up the door, and I get to the edge, and we fall out too soon," said Detta. "And like, we just weren't ready ... just the opening up of the door and oops-a-daisies. That's the part I'm most terrified for."
Though, Detta smiled and laughed saying the nerves aren't going to ruin the moment.
"As we're going up, I plan to turn to the guy I'm strapped to and be like, 'Hey, can we do some really cool stuff on our way down!?'"
An 80’s Benefit Concert will also accompany the Superhero Skydive at the Simcoe Executive Airport.
Performances include Gord Deppe from the Spoons, Robert Laidlaw from Platinum Blonde, and Kim Mitchell. There will also be a car show, food trucks, and more.
