Neil Young threatens to leave Spotify because of Joe Rogan
Neil Young has given Spotify an ultimatum; Drop Joe Rogan, or I'll take my music from your platform.
The legendary rocker feels that Rogan is spreading false vaccine safety information through his podcast "The Joe Rogan Experience."
The podcast is one of the most popular globally, with a reported eleven million downloads an episode. Rogan signed a 100-million-dollar contract with the platform in 2020.
Rolling stone reports that Neil Young told Spotify in his statement, "You can have Rogan or Young. Not both."
"I am doing this because Spotify is spreading fake information about vaccines, potentially causing death to those who believe the misinformation being spread to them."
Young isn't the first to try to get Rogan booted.
In early January, a group of 270 researchers, doctors, and health care professionals accused Spotify of spreading bogus medical advice to listeners.
In a statement, they wrote, "Spotify has a responsibility to mitigate the spread of misinformation on its platform, though the company presently has no misinformation policy."
"Mass-misinformation events of this scale have extraordinarily dangerous ramifications."
The big question now is, will Neil Young's threat even make Spotify blink?

Disney will take a different approach to the Seven Dwarfs in Snow White live action remake
Disney's live-action remake of" Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" will have more than a few changes when it hits the big screen.
The movie was recently criticized by actor Peter Dinklage, who says Disney has it backward.
In an interview on Marc Marons Podcast, Dinklage said, "They were very proud to cast a Latina actress as Snow White – but you're still telling the story of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs."
"It makes no sense to me. You're progressive in one way…, but you're still making that backward story about seven dwarfs living in a cave together?"
Dinklage, who has a form of dwarfism called has achondroplasia, then asked, "Have I done nothing to advance the cause from my soapbox? I guess I'm not loud enough."
Disney has since responded, saying they will avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film.
In a statement to the Hollywood Reporter, a spokesperson added, "we are taking a different approach with these seven characters and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community."
