6. Creative Cafe

Here's another option for a fun crafting experience.  Creative Café is an art studio that supplies all the tools you need to create your very own piece of art. One of their most popular items is a variety of paint-your-own pottery.

It's a nice way to spend time together while you create, and in the end you gain a new piece of custom made art. This idea may also come in handy if you can't find a sitter and have to bring the kids along.

7. Winers Barrie

Winers is an adorable make-your-own wine shop. You'll feel right at home in this cozy space and have so much fun learning to make your own wine. The owner can even help you find the wine closest to your favourite LCBO bottle.

A typical batch is about 28-30 bottles and goes for about $130 & up. Can you believe it? That works out to about $5 per bottle. Your date will love the idea of a new, unique experience that includes a batch of goodies to take home with you.

10. Last Level

For the gamers in the crowd, take a trip back in time to the days of pinball and pac-man. Last Level brings you all the nostalgic joy you’d expect from a “barcade”...what you might not expect: incredible food! We recommend the “loaded potato wedges”.

Your $5 cover fee gets you free-play on all games for as long as your wrists can handle.

Located at 72 Dunlop St E.

11. Skate Trail at Arrowhead

Keep an eye out for when the skating trail is open because you won't want to miss it. For updates click here.

Arrowhead is a beautiful place to explore in the winter. In addition to this beautiful skating loop through the forest you can hike, snowshoe and visit Stubbs Falls.

The skating trail can be used during the day and night but it is particularly beautiful in the dark with the path lit up by hundreds of torches.

12. Go For A Hike

There's so much to explore nearby. Sometimes quality time is a simple as getting out in the woods and going for a walk. This time of year you can also take advantage of some local trails on snowshoes or cross country skis.

We put together a list of some of the best trails in the area. Check it out here.

Historic Fort Willow is about 15 minutes outside of Barrie.

13. Take A Yoga Class

For some couples yoga is already routine, but if you and your partner have never taken a class together, give it a shot! Trying something new always makes for a memorable date, and giving your body a little self-love at the same time doesn't hurt.

There are a number of yoga studios in the area with fantastic classes all day, making it easy to work with most schedules. BLISS Ann Green Yoga and Namaste North are both great places to get started.
