Santa Claus is coming to town, in drive-thru fashion.
Innisfil Community Events Corporation (ICE) has organized the Innisfil drive-thru Santa Claus parade, which is happening on Sunday, Dec. 6 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. behind the Innisfil Recreation Centre.
Spokesman Gord Wauchope says they got the green light from the health unit and town only last Thursday, even though planning for this event began in October.
The public is asked to enter off Innisfil Beach Road.
Wauchope say this type of parade will at least give people something to enjoy.
“The public can wave to Santa Claus from the safety of their own car. We ask that it be one household per car.”
With a mind on crowd control, ICE is asking that Innisfil residents only attend the drive-thru parade, but Wauchope admits that is going to be tough to police. In fact, he is quick to admit they don’t want to disappoint anyone.
Wauchope also gives a shout out to the team at ICE and all the volunteers.
“They worked their butts off to put this together.”
