The film, which has no dialogue but lots of grunts, follows the four family members as they hunt, explore, mate and excrete an incredible amount.

Reports say the 90-minute film is filled with graphic depictions of every possible bodily function.

The unique film is a passion project by Jesse Eisenberg, who says he was just one of many people to "fall completely in love" with the story at an early stage.

In an interview with Yahoo Entertainment, Eisenberg, who also serves as a producer on the film, said, "Whenever you make something unusual, it's going to turn people off. There are so many movies made for people who like typical things. This is not that."

He says he's more focused on the response he's gotten from most viewers — that the film was a "life-changing visual experience."

The film also stars Riley Keough, Christophe Zajac-Denek and Nathan Zellner.

Its national theatrical release is on April 19.
