The victory extended New York's (6-0-0-5) winning streak to four games.

Elaine Chuli made 20 saves for Toronto (4-0-3-4), which had its losing streak extended to three games.

Kaltounková tipped in a point shot from Jincy Roese 2:50 into the second period.

Just over a minute later, following a New York chance that caused a big scramble in front, Kaltounková had a penalty shot opportunity after the officials called a closing hand on puck infraction against Ella Shelton. However, Kaltounková rang her shot off the right post.

She added an empty-net goal, though, with 6.5 seconds left in the contest.

TAKEAWAYS

Sceptres: Toronto had a rough outing as far as prime scoring chances go. The Sceptres made a push late, with under a minute remaining but couldn't solve Osborne. Both sides played sloppily but the Sirens managed to take advantage of one opportunity.

Sirens: New York simply just found a way to win, as ugly of a game as it was. The victory helped the Sirens move past the Minnesota Frost for second spot in the PWHL standings, one point behind the Boston Fleet.

KEY MOMENT

Kaltounková's tip-in goal gave New York the cushion it needed to hold off Toronto for the win.

KEY STAT

Daryl Watts entered Tuesday on a five-game point streak (four goals, two assists) and a four-game goal streak. The point streak tied her career high, while the goal streak was one away from tying New York's Sarah Fillier's league record five-game goal streak from last season.

UP NEXT

Sirens: Host the Minnesota Frost on Jan. 16.

Sceptres: Visit the Boston Fleet on Jan. 14.
