Number of schools in Ontario with at least one case of COVID below 500 for first time in six weeks

17 local schools report at least one case

The number of Ontario schools with at least one active case of COVID has dipped below 500 for the first time in six weeks.

As of yesterday, 499 schools were reporting at least one case — 10 per cent of all schools in the province – a 40 per cent decline from mid-September when there were 819 schools with an active case.

The Simcoe County District School Board yesterday reported 17 cases across nine schools. There were 26 cases in eight schools within the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board.

The Durham District School Board reported zero active infections yesterday for the second day in a row.
