Scooter driver struck by SUV, vehicle leaves scene: Barrie police

A multi-vehicle crash in which Barrie police say one driver left the scene has resulted in injuries to a man riding a motorized scooter.

Police tell Barrie 360 the collision occurred shortly before 12:30 Thursday afternoon and involved a scooter and two SUV's at Caroline and Innisfil Streets.

One SUV struck the other vehicles, according to police communications coordinator Peter Leon.

The SUV was located nearby and Leon said the female driver has been charged with two offences under the Highway Traffic Act.

The operator of the scooter was transported by paramedics to a local hospital for injuries that were believed to be non-life-threatening.
