Two Wasaga Beach residents have been charged by provincial police in what they say is the largest seizure of fentanyl in Simcoe County.
In October this year, Orillia OPP say they began investigating two individuals who were allegedly trafficking drugs in Simcoe County. Police conducted a traffic stop on Thursday and took a 38-year-old man and a 40-year old woman into custody.
As a result of the investigation, police say they seized the following:
• 1039 g of fentanyl
• 1971.3 g of cocaine
• 998.5g of methamphetamine
• 18g of shatter
• $4239.00 Canadian currency
• 178 cartons of contraband cigarettes
• 2 digital scales
• 1 cell phone
• two percocet's
• packaging materials
Both suspects have been charged with numerous drug-related offences, two counts of proceeds of property obtained by crime, and trafficking in contraband tobacco, with Tobacco Tax Act charges pending.
The male was held in custody pending a bail hearing, and the female was released with a future court date.
