It was not a great start to a Tuesday for some residents in the east end of Barrie.

Police say eight residents in the Oakley Park Square and Grove Street East area discovered sometime overnight that someone slashed their car tires.

Officers were able to follow footprints in the snow and determined the person began their mischief on Oakley Park Square where a front or rear tire was slashed on five cars that were parked in the driveways of the victims. One homeowner on the street, according to police, had all four tires slashed on their car before the suspect hit Bennett Road and Grove Street East, where two homeowners each had a front tire slashed.

Investigators say they have found evidence that will help them identify the person responsible.

If anyone has information that may assist with this ongoing investigation, they are asked to email the investigating officer Constable Hallahan at 7776@barriepolice.ca.
