It's been a busy time for Shania Twain, and now the superstar has new music to accompany her iconic year.

The Ontario native's new single "Waking Up Dreaming" was released today.

Twain made the official announcement on her Instagram account.

"I've spent the last couple years working away on new music... on my documentary... on the Vegas residency and it's been such a creatively fulfilling time for me, I can't wait for this next chapter, and Waking Up Dreaming is just the start. WAKING UP DREAMING.

The video for the single is very playful and channels the 1980's hair metal era, complete with mile-long eyelashes and neon wigs.

This album is her first one since releasing "Now" in 2017.

It's the perfect way to add to her incredible year.

In 2022 she released her documentary "Not Just A Girl," she completed her Las Vegas residency and received the ACM Honors Poet's Award.

It's also rumoured she will play the role of Mrs. Potts in the live television remake of "Beauty and The Beast."

If that project is a go, it's expected to air in December 2022 on Disney+.
