Shed fire in Tiny Township guts several farm tractors, damage at $600K

Fire erupted in a shed storing farm equipment in Tiny Township.

Deputy Fire Chief Roree Payment says crews were called out around 7 Thursday morning about a tractor fire after the owner heard a loud bang.

Upon arrival to Concession 14 East at Cedar Point Road, Payment says a second tractor had already caught fire.

"First arriving crews conducted an aggressive attack to extinguish the fire and minimize exposure to the other numerous pieces of equipment in the shed," he said in an email to Barrie 360.

Payment says the fire was quickly extinguished.

At least $1.25 million worth of equipment was saved, he added.

There is no cause for the fire, but it is not considered suspicious.
