On Saturday, November 23, 2024, at approximately 8:00 a.m., officers from the Nottawasaga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) had the privilege of pairing up with students from our local schools to participate in our annual "Shop with a Cop" event at Canadian Tire in Alliston.

The "Shop with a Cop" program is designed to provide gifts and a positive experience to elementary aged children and their families. Each elementary school in the Nottawasaga area was asked to select one student who was deserving of such an event.

Each student was given the opportunity to spend time with an OPP member, while shopping for gifts for their families and even picking out something special for themselves. Each student was provided with a gift card graciously donated by private sponsors, local businesses, and the public.

Following the shopping, students, officers, and volunteers wrapped the gifts together, enjoyed a McDonalds breakfast with Santa Claus.

Members from the Nottawasaga OPP would like to give a special thanks to the local businesses who helped make this event such a remarkable success including:

Canadian Tire - Alliston

The Nottawasaga Inn

The Police Services Board

McDonalds - Alliston

No Frills- Tottenham

Heart2HomeDoodles

Tim Hortons- Tottenham

We look forward to next year's "Shop with a Cop" event! Wishing everyone a joyous and safe holiday season!
