We've all walked down the grocery store aisle and embarrassingly drew attention to ourselves with the one squeaky wheel on the cart.
Why is it always your cart that seems to be wonky?
There's been a lot of misinformation over the years about why these carts are always busted, but the explanation is very simple.
People use them and abuse them a lot.
From hauling tons of food around the store to kids crawling on them to being dragged through the snow, these carts are put through the paces.
Constantly being dragged through the elements does a lot of damage to the metal.
The wetness warps the metal caster plate underneath each wheel, which can make the wheel stick or lift off the ground.
Stores repair or replace them as needed, but only some at a time; that's why you always get the warped one.
If you're handy, bring a can of WD-40 to take care of the squeaky issue.
