Simcoe County, Muskoka Region join Health Unit in making big push for medical equipment donations

donations could help offset increased demand in live-saving items

A multi-region group effort is helping to make a dent in the health care supply problem.

The County of Simcoe and the District of Muskoka are pairing with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit to launch a donation campaign for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) along with the supplies critically required for the provision of safe medical care.

To counteract the rapid increase in demand for medical supplies and equipment, donations of the following items is being sought:

  • N95 masks
  • Surgical masks
  • Face shields, protective goggles or safety glasses
  • Nitrile gloves (latex-free)
  • Reusable or disposable gowns
  • Medical thermometers
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Disinfectant wipes with a DIN# or with bleach cleaner
  • Hand soap

Any businesses or community members looking to donate items can email All donations received will be collected in central depots in Simcoe and Muskoka and will be issued to local health care providers in order of priority, as determined by the Province of Ontario.
