Simcoe County Paramedics Launch Annual Toy Drive
"This is truly what the holidays are all about”
They save lives…and this time of year they save Christmas for many families.
Simcoe County Paramedics launch into their 16th annual Toy Drive today.
“The holidays can be exceptionally stressful for children and families in need,” said Deputy Warden Terry Dowdall. “We are grateful to our generous residents and businesses who continue to support the Toy Drive and thankful to our Paramedics for volunteering their time to support our communities. This is truly what the holidays are all about.”
During the last 15 years, the Toy Drive has collected 72,832 toys, 24,436 lbs of food, and approximately $145,026 in monetary and gift card donations for families across Simcoe County.
All donations are distributed to local children and families in need by charitable organizations working in partnership with Simcoe County Paramedic Services. Residents are asked for their continued generosity and support in helping those most in need in our region.
Donations of new, unwrapped toys can be made at the County of Simcoe Administration Centre, 1110 Highway 26 in Midhurst between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and at all Simcoe County Paramedic stations, where outdoor drop boxes are available (please do not leave monetary donations in drop boxes – only non-perishable food items and new, unwrapped toys).
