York Regional Police (YRP) say they have dismantled a drug ring with the arrest of 39 people who are facing more than 150 charges following an investigation that started in April.
Police say they received reports about a woman trafficking drugs in Newmarket.
"A suspect was identified and as investigators targeted the street-level trafficking, they identified a larger network with the capacity to supply large amounts of fentanyl, cocaine and methamphetamine in our community," YRP said in a news release on Thursday.
Search warrants were executed at 23 locations in Newmarket, Vaughan, Mississauga, Ajax and across Toronto, culminating in the seizure of more than $7 million in drugs.
If one #Newmarket drug dealer had looked into her crystal ball, she might have seen @YRP laying 156 charges against 39 people after busting up her trafficking ring.#ProjectCrystal is the culmination of an intense, five-month investigation.

The seizure included more than 11 kilos of crystal methamphetamine, more than two kilos of fentanyl, which police said could have been processed into 27 kilos of street fentanyl, as well as six kilos of cocaine.
Among those charged are two women from Bradford, 26 and 42 years of age.
Arrest warrants have been issued for five people on a variety of drug-related charges.
