A Simcoe County woman has been charged after she allegedly bit OPP officers as they attempted to arrest her on New Year's Eve.

Caledon OPP responded Sunday afternoon to a report of a woman who was intoxicated and throwing bottles at cars and people while standing in the middle of Highway 50 south of Highway 9.

The person had a dog with her that police say bit a person who tried to stop the woman.

OPP say the aggressive dog was secured by canine services, and three officers were injured, two of whom were bitten by the accused.

The trio of cops suffered minor injuries.

A 29-year-old from Loretto was charged with:

·        Mischief

·        Resisting Arrest

·        Assault Peace Officer

·        Public Intoxication

The accused is scheduled to appear in Orangeville Provincial Court in January.

The person who was bitten by the dog sustained minor injuries, police added.
