The Simpsons introduced its first deaf character

The Simpsons shined the light on the deaf community in its latest episode by featuring a deaf actor.

The episode centers around Lisa, who discovers her favourite jazz musician, the late “Bleeding Gums Murphy,” had a deaf son, Monk, who deaf actor John Autry II voices.

Other characters in the show communicate with American Sign Language.

In an interview with Variety, show writer Loni Steele Sosthand admitted the sign language was tricky since characters in the Simpsons have only four fingers.

The show consulted with ASL specialists to guarantee the four-fingered signing would make sense.

Julian Lennon Performs "Imagine" for Ukraine benefit

Julian Lennon got behind the mic this weekend and performed "Imagine" during a benefit for Ukrainian refugees.

The son of John Lennon once vowed never to perform his dad's famous song.

On social media, he explains why he broke that promise.

"I had always said that the only time I would ever consider singing 'Imagine' would be if it was the End of the World," he wrote.

"But also, because his lyrics reflect our collective desire for peace worldwide. Because within this song, we're transported to a space, where love and togetherness become our reality, if but for a moment in time."

At the end of his post, he concluded, "I'm calling on world leaders and everyone who believes in the sentiment of "Imagine," to stand up for refugees everywhere! Please advocate and donate from the heart."

He performed at the "Stand Up for Ukraine" campaign, a global fund-raising effort.

The campaign raised a reported $10 billion.

Jack White and Olivia Jean get married during Detroit show

Jack White got married this weekend during his hometown show in Detroit.

The White Stripes singer called his girlfriend, fellow musician Olivia Jean, on stage and proposed during a rendition of "Hotel Yorba."

After she said "yes," he asked if she wanted to get married right away?

She said "Yes" again, and the two got married on stage during the encore.

His band, parents, and an officiant came on stage to make it official.

Check out the cell phone footage of the sweet moment.
