SIU Called in To Probe Allegations Against Huronia West Officers

Allegations Stem From Canada Day Incident Involving Distraught Motorist

Some Huronia West OPP officers are under added scrutiny from the province’s police watchdog, after a Canada Day incident.

The OPP say a man was taken into custody around 10:30 on the night of July 1st, said to be distraught during a traffic stop. The 32-year-old man was taken to local hospital for a medical assessment.

Since the incident, allegations have been made against the officers involved, and the OPP have contacted the Special Investigations Unit to probe those allegations.
