A long list of charges for an Innisfil man after South Simcoe Police were alerted Friday afternoon about a pickup truck travelling on County Road 89 with its hazard lights on and driving at a very slow speed. Police say the truck was holding up a line of traffic and the driver was seen swerving in their seat.
Officers located the vehicle pulling into a local business. After chatting with the driver, the 58-year-old was arrested for impaired. Police allege they found an open bottle of liquor in the vehicle.
The man was taken back to the police station for a breath test, but he allegedly refused to provide samples.
The suspect was charged with the following:
CHARGE 1 – Operation While Impaired 320 .14(1)(a) – Criminal Code
CHARGE 2 – Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand 320.15(1) – Criminal Code
CHARGE 3 – Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm 264.1(1)(a)
CHARGE 4 – Driving Motor Vehicle with Open Container of Liquor – Liquor licence and Control Act 42(1)(a)
CHARGE 5 – Driving Motor Vehicle with Liquor Readily Available – Liquor Licence and Control Act 42(1)(b)
CHARGE 6 – Fail to Surrender Insurance Card – CAIA 3(1)
CHARGE 7 – Fail to Surrender Permit for Motor Vehicle – Highway Traffic Act – 7(5)(a)
