Smoke alarms alert occupants to fire in Barrie home

While the fire was considered minor in nature, Barrie Fire Service credits working smoke alarms that alerted occupants of a Browning Trail home to flames that started in a ceiling fan and spread to the attic.

Fire officials tell Barrie 360 that crews were called to the scene around 9 p.m. on Wednesday.

Everyone managed to flee the home and no one was injured.

Firefighters said there was no damage total or cause yet available.
