A crash and burn in Tiny Township as firefighters alerted Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) late Thursday night about a snowmobile in flames on Concession 17 West.

When officers arrived, they located a burned snowmobile that had been in a collision with a parked van and a barn. There was no operator in the vicinity, so officers followed footprints in the snow to a nearby home, police said.

At the house, police say officers spoke with an individual and noted signs of alcohol impairment. The person was arrested and taken to the detachment to provide breath samples, which he refused to do.

The 43-year-old was charged with refusal to comply with a demand.

His driver's licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
