Reza Shabahang from Flinders University says, "As social media becomes increasingly intertwined with our lives, its impact extends beyond waking hours and may influence our dreams."
She adds "Whilst social media-related nightmares are relatively rare, those who use social media more during their daily lives are more likely to have social media-related nightmares that are associated with negative mental health outcomes, such as anxiety, depression and sleep quality."
One way to curb this is to limit social media use before bed. Scrolling has become a part of many people's bedtime routine, and experts suggest you cut that habit. Try logging off at least an hour before bed to avoid nightmares and some good zzz's.
