Some Innisfil Residents May Be Puzzled By New Crosswalks

School Zones Gain Rainbow Jigsaw Puzzle Pieces as Crosswalks

The Town of Innisfil has introduced some new crosswalk paint jobs it hopes will get people talking.

Several crosswalks have been painted with a rainbow of linked jigsaw pieces, in a move the town says will help better identify the crosswalks while beautifying the space.

The crosswalks can be found, strategically placed near school zones, in the following areas:

  • 20th Sideroad and Killarney Beach Rd. in Lefroy
  • 25th Sideroad and Joseph St. in Alcona
  • King St. and East John St. in Cookstown
  • Victoria St & N Gate in Stroud (pictured above)

“These beautiful, painted crosswalks are meant to grab everyone’s attention and get people thinking and talking about the best way to create walkable, connected communities,” said Innisfil Mayor Lynn Dollin. “If you have a story, an idea or if you just want to learn more, we strongly encourage everyone to visit our special webpage and share your feedback today.”

The feedback garnered from this will be used to help shape future decisions about Innisfil’s transportation network, especially pertaining to safety in school zones.

Residents are encouraged to get involved in the conversation through the Town’s website.
