It’s been 40 years since we started walking down the street with headphones on our heads, listening to our favourite tunes.
Sony was the first out of the gate with its cassette Walkman.
And it’s out now with a 40th-Anniversary Walkman, complete with the peek-a-boo window so you can watch the cassette tape going round and round.
Lift the flap and there’s a touchscreen with a video representation of a cassette in motion.
The retro device supports downloaded and streaming music. Its storage is minimal — 16GB — but it does have a microSD card slot so you can boost its memory.
The unit is expected to be on store shelves in November.
Sony has not divulged a price.
