South Simcoe Police is asking for the public's assistance following an armed carjacking in Innisfil.
On Monday, May 16, around 12 p.m., the victim, a 77-year-old Barrie woman, arrived at the Tim Horton's on Commerce Park Drive.
According to police, she was approached by a male suspect armed with a knife after she parked and exited her vehicle. The suspect grabbed the victim's car keys and pushed her to the ground. She had minor injuries as a result.
Officers say the suspect then fled the scene in the victim's vehicle - but later recovered it in another jurisdiction.
South Simcoe Police is seeking witnesses and security/dash camera video of the incident.
Investigators are working with several policing partners in the Greater Toronto Area as part of a multi-jurisdictional effort to apprehend the suspect.

Police would like to remind citizens that no vehicle is worth your life. A car can be replaced but your life cannot. If you are approached by thieves, remain calm and comply. Don't fight back and call 911 as soon as possible.
