A man faces impaired driving charges after being stopped by South Simcoe police, who say two children were in the vehicle.
On Saturday afternoon around 2:30, a citizen called police about a possible impaired driver in the area of Innisfil Beach Road and Yonge Street.
Officers stopped the vehicle and the driver was arrested.
"There were two young children in the vehicle who were picked up by a relative," police wrote in a release. "As a result of the investigation, it was determined the driver had a blood alcohol level more than three times the legal limit."
He was charged with Operation While Impaired, Operation While Impaired – Excess Blood Alcohol, and two counts of Failing to Provide Necessaries of Life for endangering the lives of the children.
The accused was released with a future court date.
Police say the identity of the accused is not being released to protect the identities of the children.
