Innisfil man faces 13 charges after police say he threatened parents with knives and gun

South Simcoe Police say an Innisfil man faces 13 charges after a domestic-related threatening incident in the Town of Innisfil.

Officers were called to an address just before 9:30 p.m., with the caller reporting that her son had assaulted her and her husband, and was threatening them with knives and a gun.

Police heard yelling coming from the home when they arrived, and say they could see the suspect inside with a shotgun at his feet.

Officers entered the home and confronted the suspect as he attempted to pick up the shotgun.

According to police, they then used a taser on the man which caused him to drop the gun – allowing them to place him under arrest.

A 34-year-old Innisfil man faces 13 charges including uttering threats, assault with a weapon, careless use of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

He was held for a bail hearing.
