Vehicle and Distraction Theft Charges Laid

South Simcoe Police have cuffed a man believed to be the perp wanted for breaking into a few Bradford cars.

A victim contacted police November 29th to report their vehicle had been entered overnight, while similar call came in on December 1st. The second reported having his stolen credit card used after the theft, and police used that info to hone in on a suspect.

Investigators took a search warrant to a Bradford home on Friday and claim to have found items stolen from both vehicles.

A 20-year-old man faces appropriate charges.

Meanwhile, South Simcoe Police say a 27-year-old Toronto man has been charged with theft, after a distraction theft from a Cookstown store in early September. It’s reported three individuals went into the King St. store, and while two distracted the clerk, a third went into the back room to steal some cash.
