A Springwater Township home sustained an estimated $150,000 in damage after a fire Sunday morning.

Fire crews were called just after 9 a.m. to 2 Buttercup Lane, in the area of South Orr Lake Road and County Road 93.

Fire Chief Jeff Kirk says the blaze was caused by an incorrect installation and improper materials used for a chimney connected to a wood stove.

Two people were inside the home at the time, but both got out safely and were not injured.
