Netflix officially gave "Squid Game" season 2, the "Greenlight."
A follow-up to the hit Korean show was expected since the first ended last year, but now it's official.
Director Hwang Dong-hyuk posted a message to fans saying:
"It took 12 years to bring the first season of 'Squid Game' to life last year. But it took 12 days for 'Squid Game' to become the most popular Netflix series ever."
"A huge shout out to fans around the world. Thank you for watching and loving our show… Join us once more for a whole new round."

Hwang revealed a few things to expect this season, including the return of Gi-hun, and the mysterious Front Man.
He also teased that the man in the suit with ddakji might be back, along with new characters including, Cheol-su, Young-hee's boyfriend.
The show was first released on Netflix in September 2021 and became an instant hit, becoming its biggest series launch ever.
No release date has been set.
