South Simcoe Police (SSP) say an e-bike that was found abandoned had been involved in a hit-and-run in Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Around 10:30 p.m. on July 25, police received a report of an abandoned e-bike on the side of the road in the area of Yonge Street and Line 11.

Through their investigation, police learned that the e-bike operator was struck by a small SUV or sedan that was driving on the shoulder of Yonge Street.

Police report that the impact caused significant damage to the e-bike, and the operator sustained minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene.

Investigators are appealing to anyone with information to contact South Simcoe Police.
